One of the most useful techniques for dealing with Stress in the Workplace is the practice of Mindfulness
But what is Mindfulness?
Essentially, Mindfulness is about becoming aware of the here and now. About putting aside worries about the future and the past and experiencing the present moment on a completely different level. People use it successfully to treat chronic pain, anxiety, stress and depression. It has also been seen to enhance creativity and productivity.
It is being used in education, healthcare and in business as well.
“Mindfulness meditation, the practice of paying more attention to the present moment, helps lower stress hormones and decreases inflammation in the body, scientists have proven for the first time.
The training has been growing in popularity in recent years, with the NHS recommending mindfulness as a way to reduce stress and anxiety.” (Daily Telegraph)
But as one of the main beliefs in Mindfulness is the need to stop thinking about the future, accepting things as they are and just “going with the flow” – how can you use this in business when goals need setting and people are under pressure to perform at a high level of achievement?
Stress Busting Workshop
This workshop combines some of the traditional exercises of Mindfulness, such as Eating a Raisin, the Body Scan and Mindful Breathing with some powerful NLP techniques. This creates a session which the participants will leave with a variety of powerful practices that they can apply at work, creating a stress free, motivated and productive workforce.
The sessions are totally interactive and great fun. The normal length of the session is an hour, but you can adjust it to run shorter or longer as required. The Stress Busting Workshop fits in very well as part of a training or team building day. It also works very nicely as part of Alex’s 3 hour “Practical NLP, Body Language and More” workshop.
